An easy-to-control vine that can grow to 10-20 feet and produces wonderfully perfumed flowers much of the summer and into fall. This is the classic European selection whose flowers are deep red-purple on the outside and yellow inside. Wonderfully fragrant, and easy to grow in average soil in full sun or half sun. Z. 5-8

A selection chosen for its extended period of bloom, from spring into summer and maybe even beyond, 'Major Wheeler' bears sprays of red flowers with yellow throats. Talk about a hummingbird magnet! Being a well-behaved climber, it grows only 6-8 feet high. Prune only after flowering to keep it shapely, and in mild climates the foliage remains evergreen. Z. 5-9
