Liriodendron tulipifera 'Little Volunteer' - Dwarf Tulip Poplar

Liriodendron tulipifera is a splendid native tree with its large, curiously notched leaves and elegant upright form. It can easily reach 70-80 feet—too large for the average home landscape, but don't despair—here's a downsized version with all the endearing features of the original but at one-third the scale. L. 'Little Volunteer' reaches only 30 feet with a lesser spread, and leaves are one-third the size of the original. It exhibits excellent branching structure with a compact, pyramidal habit. We now have the ideal tree for smaller landscapes. PP 19581. Z. 5-9
