Current Genus: Caryopteris
Caryopteris 'First Choice' - Dwarf Blue Mist Shrub
Caryopteris is a great late-summer bloomer with silvery foliage and wonderfully blue flower spikes. This new selection from England has rich cobalt-blue flowers and a compact, rounded habit of only about 3 feet. Grow Caryopteris in full sun and well-drained soil. Cut back by about half in late winter or early spring to keep shapely. PP 11958. Z. 6-9
Caryopteris incana Blue Myth - Blue Mist Shrub
This new introduction was a great hit at last fall's Open Houses. With attractive toothed leaves, Blue Myth sparkles with deep blue flowers produced in clusters in late summer and early fall. Compact and with a shorter growing habit, it grows to only about 2 feet high. Z. 6-9
Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Longwood Blue' - Blue Mist Shrub
This selection has fine gray-green foliage and lovely delphinium-blue flowers. This plant was in full bloom at a recent Open House, and it would have been easier to count the visitors who left without 'Longwood Blue' than those who did! Z. 6-9
