Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Princess Diana' - Hybrid Serviceberry

The Serviceberry, a member of the Rose family, is one of the first native trees to bloom in our area, just before the Dogwoods in spring. 'Princess Diana' was selected for its abundant white flowers and the spectacular red fall color of the foliage; it may reach 25 feet in height. The red berries that turn purple-black are rated tastier than blueberries by connoisseurs, but you have to get to them before the birds do! An excellent choice for a naturalistic planting.
