Named after a Mississippian with the first name of Peachie, this pick has an upright, dwarf habit to about 20 inches with dark lavender-blue flowers. It starts to bloom later than other Stokesias (early to mid-July), and its compactness allows it to be slipped into a crowded border with ease. Z. 5-8

A wonderful selection with light blue flowers on sturdy stalks 3-4 feet high that do not require staking. As if the flowers were not reason enough to grow this plant, the flower buds are marvelously intricate affairs that resemble artichokes. Grows best in filtered sun and well-drained soil. Z. 5-9
