Current Genus: Sedum
Sedum cauticolum 'Lidakense' - Sedum
Sedums are indispensible groundcovers for dry, sunny locations, and S. cauticolum 'Lidakense' is one of the most striking and always catches the eyes of visitors to our Open Houses. Handsome bluish gray leaves have a beguiling purple overlay. In fall rosy red flowers smother this creeping, mat-like Sedum. Grows to about 6 inches high. Z. (5)6-8
Sedum reflexum 'Blue Spruce' - Sedum
A most unusual Sedum with grayish blue needles, 'Blue Spruce' masquerades as a conifer. Creeping stems form a little forest of spruce-blue mats only about 4 inches high. In midsummer tall columns rise above the needle-like foliage bearing yellow flowers. Z. 3-9
Sedum rupestre 'Angelina' - Sedum
'Angelina' forms a breathtaking mat of yellow needle-like foliage with reddish tips to about 6 inches high and wide. The foliage is so pretty that you won't even notice the yellow flowers in summer. Z. 5-8
Sedum sexangulare - Watch-Chain Sedum
A watch chain? Well, look at the tight little leaves along the stems, and you can easily summon up the image of a old-fashioned watch chain dangling from a prosperous banker's waistcoat. This Sedum is not just a curiosity but a hardworking groundcover for dry sunny sites. Z. 3-9
