Taxodium distichum 'Falling Waters' - Weeping Bald Cypress
The well-known Bald Cypress is a deciduous conifer native to many areas of the East, South, and lower Midwest, and widely planted outside its native range. In fall the soft green needles turn shades of reddish-brown, which is also the color of the bark. 'Falling Waters' is a strongly weeping selection, but rather than all branching being lax like many weepers, 'Falling Waters' maintains a central leader, and the secondary branches weep gracefully. A really lovely specimen for that special spot in your garden. It reaches only 15 feet in height and perhaps half as wide, and it grows well in full or part sun in moist loamy soil. Z. 5-9
